At the Vilna Shul circa 2006Honorable Menschen
sings a diverse repertoire of Jewish, Israeli, and World music — from
traditional synagogue tunes to Israeli pop to jazz and beyond. We sing in
English, Hebrew, Ladino, Luganda, and Yiddish. And we'd be delighted to perform
wedding, bar/bat mitzvah,
synagogue event, or other special occasion.
We can propose our
own set list from our wide repertoire of secular, liturgical, and holiday
favorites, or we can work with you to come up with something to fit the
occasion. In most cases, we can also prepare special requests or songs specific
to your event.
We can usually
accommodate requests for performances on Shabbat, depending on location and
travel requirements. We have a range of material that is suitable for
integration into a musical Friday-night Shabbat service. Our favorite “Shabbat
pitch pipe” is a kippah clip (Adam’s
is an F-sharp).
Rates: We typically ask
$500 for an hour of music — less for a shorter performance; more if we prepare
new music specifically for the occasion, or for travel time over one hour (each
way) from Boston. However, we also understand the limited resources of not-for-profit
institutions, and rates may be negotiable based on the particular
